If you are cutting back on caffeine but miss your morning cup of strong dark tea our MONGOLIAN TEA is exactly what you need!
Naturally caffeine-free this loose leaf tea makes a great substitute for the Chinese black tea. Mongolian tea is one of the kind because it's the only tea that is naturally, on the plant, fermented (meaning it self-ferments). This tea is made of leaves of Bergenia Crassifolia (In Altai it's called "Badan"). This unique plant is green year-round even in the arctic Siberian climate. The fermented leaves (only the two years old leaves are good for consumption as a tea) are collected during the short period of time when the snow melts in the spring.
HOW DOES IT TASTE
Mongolian tea has a gently astringent and pleasant taste. With the hint of smoky aroma, it might remind you of the famous Lapsang Souchong.
For centuries Mongolian tea was used in Russian, Tibetian, and Chinese folk medicine as an anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting remedy. This naturally caffeine-free herbal tea aids with stomachaches, cramps, and bleeding gums.
