If you are cutting back on caffeine but miss your morning cup of strong dark tea our MONGOLIAN TEA is exactly what you need! Naturally caffeine-free this loose leaf tea makes a great substitute for Chinese black tea.
💠 HOW DOES IT TASTE
Mongolian tea has a gently astringent and pleasant taste with the hint of a smoky aroma. It might remind you of the famous Lapsang Souchong.
☛ You wouldn't need a sweetener because this herbal tea is not bitter!
☛ Pairs great with milk.
Mongolian tea is one-of-the-kind because it's the only tea that is naturally - without any human intervention - self-ferments (the leaves get brown on the plant but they are not dead). This tea is made of black leaves of Bergenia Crassifolia (In Altai it's called 'Бадан' [ba-dan]) that passed 2 winters. This unique plant is green year-round even in the sub-arctic Siberian climate.
💠 STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS
-- Steep 1 teaspoon of the tea in 12-16 oz. mug for 5-7 min.
-- You can steep the same brew up to 2 times! The tea will not lose its flavor and health benefits.
☛ Enjoy hot or cold! The tea holds well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
*** We do NOT recommend using the microwave to warm the tea up. Simmering in the pot is OK, or you may brew a stronger batch (double the tea per the same amount of water), keep in the fridge, and mix it 50/50 with the hot water when you are ready for a warm cuppa.
💠 BENEFITS OF MONGOLIAN TEA

☛ The plant is used for making lotions that aid seborrheic dermatitis, hyperhidrosis, and acne.
☛ Extracts and tinctures of bergenia effectively increase the frequency of heartbeat and help lower blood pressure.
